![]() Also Aguefort could’ve brought another teacher in to sacrifice and revivify Darleen but didn’t. Adiane herself could’ve disengaged and ran for help. Had they focused more on corn blob or at first the pantry and not tried to jump on tables, or had they protected their lvl 1 (I think she was lvl 1?) wizard more, then maybe it wouldn’t have had to come to that. With that being said, there was a way for darleen the lunch lady to not be killed in that fight, but the circumstances brought upon by both NPCs and PCs lead Adiane to make the decision to kill her. I chose Adiane mostly out of “she did make a choice, and within the world it was a correct choice but she still took a innocent life - does that make her good or bad?” Which, as a question, makes everything seem really one dimensional to me. I mean, if we’re saying that whether people are good or bad by their actions, then we’re also labelling actions as good or bad. I just think you can still hate a character and their actions and be intrigued about how they’ll grow and develop into hopefully a better person.Įdit: I did not mean for this to be so big, nor to use the phrase “which is to say” twice but here we are and I’m sorry about that □Įdit: Oh my god I’m so sorry for the long reply □ Everyone’s going to react differently to each character and their backstory, which is to say your feelings on her (and whatever label you want to use for her eg. I don’t think she’s a good partner, but she seems to try and be a good mother and a better person. Which is to say, Sandra Lynn has made some bad choices, absolutely. ![]() Or hell, is Adiane a good person after we saw her beat a woman to death with a ladle? ![]() I think to label her good or bad kinda minimises Figs relationship and character growth in relation to Sandra Lynn.Īlternatively, is Fig a good person, when we know about her pretending to be completely different people and making out with people who do not know her nor can’t consent to kissing her or a teenager in general? She certainly could do more, as could anyone, but IMO she's far from a bad person. We're not given a whole lot from Brennan, but she was taken advantage of by an older couple when she wasn't much older than Fig, and while I'm not excusing her behavior, that kind of thing is going to shape a person pretty severely, especially without addressing it or trying to work through it with anyone.Īlso, Brennan seems to be very interested in telling broader character stories when he can to, not necessarily say that a character is good or bad, but to just provide more context of a person's life so that you can decide whether that person is "good" or "bad" or worthy of redemption, with regards to Ailwyn.Īs others have said, I think Sandra Lynn is a complex character who consistently makes poor choices when it comes to being someone in a committed relationship, but also does her best to protect people and, recognizing her flaws, attempts to be as good of a parent as she can be. I think something a lot of people forget about Sandra Lynn, also, is her own background and traumas regarding relationships.
